I wonder what they look like when lit; the picture looked really blue. I really like the Silverstars, nice and bright and more white than blue, and not too terribly expensive.

some of the plastic retrofit lights are not of the best quality. I would check out the Silverstar lights.

Those are not real xenon bulbs. They are just H3 bulbs, with custom housings to take them. Real Xenon bulbs, or H.I.D. headlights require a ballast and starter per headlight.

H4 bulbs they are. and only HID setups require a ballast.and the starter you talk of is just a quick burst of voltage.

Yep, that's right. I had a set of the H4 imitators, but they kept blowing the bulbs. Running the Silverstars now.

These lamps is really not like xenon lamps these are a little bit more blue then standard bulbs . the differce betwen H4 and xenon is the color temperature a standard halogen lamp has an color temperature around 3000 kelvin and an xenon 6500 kelvin . The price is also very high for these H4 bulbs . Its easyer to put blue film on the lamp glas and also cheaper .If you change to H4 you have put in some relays beacause the fusible link is to week .

My IROC had those things when I bought it. I removed them and placed in my garage trash can. The light from them did not penetrate the dark and highway speed was dangerous. I first thought the only light I had seen that was worse was the one on my Harley...I changed my mind...even the Harley was better. (cheap imitation of something good)
