Well thought I would let all of you know that swapping from drum to disc is easy... Except that the brake cables will have to have a custom braket made to hold the disc brake cables... the disc ones are in a different spot than drum and they are attatched to the car.. PERMANENTLY... you cant get that piece from the dealer either.. they come with the car only...

Do you have to have a different proportioning valve? If so would you happen to have the p/n?

The swap wasn't too bad for me. I changed out the rear end and the new one happened to have disc on it (old one had drum). Only problem I had was the flaring on the brake lines was different and I had to have a hose made for it, but noone else has said they had that problem. I'm not sure about the parking brake though, my cables are still dangling.

when i did mine, i also had to make a bracket..

i had a 4thgen rearend, but the idea is the same...

heres a rough drawing of what i made.

its basicly just a piece of metal bent on a vice... the holes are the right size for the cable to snap into, and the little groove to the edge lets me slide the inner cable thru easily...

at full suspesnion past the bumpstop travel, theres only 1/8" clearance between it and the driveshaft.. be sure to check that before you weld it in.
and when you're measuring... remember, bumpstops compress when you hit them...
